@cappie Of course I won’t delete your comment, as long as you don’t insult (which is not case in this situation).

I use both IE8 and Firefox 3.5, and IE8 is very good piece of software.

As I said in one post, I am not MS employee (just a student partner).
Fanboy? If all I need to become a fanboy is using some technology (and I use MS solutions a lot), then yes, I am fanboy. I use MS solutions where I think those solutions are better than solutions from other vendors, and vice-versa.

I write this blog to help others and share my “experience” and knowledge, and I’m used to be called “fanboy”. But if that’s the price, OK, I’ll survive.

You make it sound as if you’re being sponsored by Microsoft dude.. IE8 has a TON of site compatibility issues, that alone is enough reason to stick with Firefox 3.5 or better.

As far as I know, it is not possible to install IE8 RC1 on Win7, but look what Josip Medved is saying: “IE8 RC will come with Windows 7 RC (hopefully in april).”

I’ll install fresh new copy of Windows 7 beta on another partition, then I’ll copy files and setting from Windows Vista. I’ll let Vista installed, just in case .

Well, I still use Firefox and IE 8 (Win 7 version), since some sites do not show correctly in IE. I suggest you create ful computer backup prior to installing Win 7, so you can allwasy revert if anything goes bad. You can upgrade Vista to Win 7, you should also be able to upgrade from BETA to RC1 (seamless upgrade as they call it ).

Hey Ilija, if you get IE 8 RC1 successfully working on Windows 7 let me know, because I wasn’t able to find RC1 installer for Windows 7 and I haven’t try to use any other installation for other OS (Vista etc.)

Just be aware that Windows 7 has beta 1 of IE8. Google sites do not like it much (you need to use them in compatibility mode). IE8 RC will come with Windows 7 RC (hopefully in april).

I’ll do it, I just don’t like the fact that there will be no upgrade from Windows 7 beta to Windows 7 in the future, so I’ll have to install fresh new copy of Windows 7 once it hits the market.
