    Student Technology Day was great!


     

    student_technology_day_fesb_split_croatia1Yesterday we had first Croatian Student Technology Day organized by Microsoft Student Partners at my college FESB. We had day filled up with great lectures about tehnology, and the speakers were Tomislav Tipuric from Microsoft Croatia, Microsoft MVPs Ivan Saskor and Vladan Strigo, Marko Matijevic from Cygnus, Ivan Macek, MSP and me.

    student_technology_day_fesb_split_croatiaAt keynote, Tomislav introduced Windows 7 beta and Internet Explorer 8 beta, and after that he showed us how to create ASP.NET website with ASP.NET Starter Kits. Third lecture was about Code generators, presented by Ivan Saskor and Marko Matijevic. In 4th session Ivan student_technology_day_fesb_split_croatiaMacek joined Marko to present Windows Presentation Foundation and Silverlight. Then it was my turn, to deliver lecture about Windows Server 2008 and it’s security technologies, like Network Access Protection, Windows Server 2008 Core, Terminal Services Gateway… I think my session was great, but I had one little problem. I forgot to plug my laptop to power source, so battery went dead at my last slide :-( . But it was funny :-) . Sugar at the end was lecture about JQuery-Fu from Vladan Strigo.     Overall, whole event was great, we had more than 100 attendees during the day, and I am very happy that more than 40 pupils from high schools joined us. It seems they are more passionate about technology than students :-) . By organizing this event Microsoft student partners from Croatia showed that they are valuable members of Microsoft Community and we hope we gonna have more opportunities to organize even more events for the students. Because that’s what we do :-) . I have to say thanks to these persons for helping me in organization and supporting of this event:
