Windays 2010 report
Last week I attended Microsoft Windays 2010 conference, the biggest IT conference in Croatia. This was the third year in a row that I attend this conference and first year as a speaker. I delivered a session “Windows Server 2008 R2 technical features”. I spoke about many new features in R2 version, like Live Migration, Branch Cache, Direct Access… I was very surprised when I saw a full room of people that wanted to hear my presentation; some of them were standing all the time because they couldn’t find a free seat (later I was told that there were 110 guests on my session). Everything went well, all demos worked fine (8 virtual machines
), and I got many questions from the audience. I was a bit nervous, but after everything ended, I felt really great and was very happy.
Rest of the week I spent in chat&talk “sessions” with fellow colleagues. I was really happy to see many great folks and chat with them, because I usually communicate with them only by email. Many folks congratulated me on my MVP award; now I realize what it means on how much others appreciate it. I also attended a few sessions; you have to learn something on conferences like this one
.
I would like to thank Microsoft for giving me the opportunity to speak at the Windays conference, I hope I didn’t disappoint them. Next stop: hopefully, KulenDayz.
