How to deploy Windows XP Mode
Windows XP Mode is great new feature in Windows 7. It is Windows XP operating system that you can download from Virtual PC web site, and start it in Windows Virtual PC. Why do you need it? For example, if you have some applications that you can run only on Windows XP or older Windows operating systems (or you have drivers that work only on Windows XP, like me), you can install those applications in virtual Windows XP, and then you can access them through Windows 7 start menu. It’s quite easy to use although I had some “problems” with Virtual PC. If you want to find out more detailed information about it, there is a video showing how to deploy Windows XP Mode available to download from Microsoft web site. This video highlights the many features of Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode and provides guidance on deploying in a corporate environment.
