How to manage Windows Server 2008 Core?

windows_server_coreAs you may see, I started writing small tutorials on how to manage Windows Server Core. For now, I wrote 2 posts: Changing the IP address in Windows Server 2008 Core and How to enable Automatic updates in Windows Server 2008 Core?. Both examples show how to manage Windows Server Core from local command line, but there are four other ways how you can manage Windows Server 2008 Core:

    1. Local command prompt
    2. Terminal Services
    3. Terminal Services with RemoteApp
    4. Windows Remote Shell
    5. MMC Snap-Ins

There is a great tutorial at Windows IT Pro website written by J. Peter Bruzzese, which explains all five ways for managing Windows Server Core. If you are interested in reading that tutorial, you can find it here.
