Try deleting the c:windowssystem32sysprepunattend.xml file before running sysprep.

Hey buddy,

Please dont go around promoting this solution as a Windows 7 ”Newsid”.
This does a lot more than Newsid and did not solve my problem. Your lucky I tested this on a lab machine first. This solution wipes out all machine settings and starts from fresh. That is NOT what Newsid did.

Sysprep is crap. I don’t want to reset the local admin account and all the other garbage. I’ve already done that. ALL I WANT IS THE SID TO CHANGE! Why is that no longer an option?
